664 Susan McClung Marshall, b. at “Belle Grove,” Fleming Co., Ky., January 5, 1839, = October 6, 1863,Nathaniel Massie, b. August 8, 1837; d. March 14, 1869.
Cousin Sue is a handsome, intelligent and spirited lady. She lives at the old homestead in Washington, Ky., with her daughter. By her father’s will she has a large part of the home tract of land. Mr. Massie was a son of the late Nathaniel Massie, a pioneer from Virginia, who was born December 28, 1763; Governor of Ohio in 1807. Nathaniel, Jr., was born in Chillicothe, Ohio; volunteered as a private in the Union army; was discharged on account of protracted sickness, which finally resulted in death. His widow and daughter draw a pension.
Since Susan Marshall Massie lived so long after Paxton publish the Marshall Family, there is significant info missing.

Susan McClung Marshall was born on January 11, 1838, in Fleming, Kentucky, to Elizabeth Colston, age 36, and Martin Pickett Marshall, age 39.
Susan McClung Marshall married Nathaniel Massie (b. 1837 – d. 1869) on October 6, 1863, when she was 25 years old. Her daughter Alice Meade was born on October 12, 1868 and died 1927.
